Sports Personality of the Year
Weakest line up in years.

Stuart Broad, jockey Hollie Doyle, boxer Tyson Fury, Formula 1's Lewis Hamilton, footballer Jordan Henderson and snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Hardly a contest.

Chester

Yeah I get that and sacked it off long ago as a primary listen

But it is a fair call that she is absolutely rank, but the bigger complaint is that when ever she is interviewed about her TS role she talks about objectivization and misogyny yet her social media is full of pouting semi naked FHM style selfies, maximizing her real/only attributes

As i said, don't have a dog in the fight, it's now woke central and the presentation even poorer than it was, so excepting the odd show, can't be having it

People whining about Laura Woods on a show that previously had the Ronni Irani and Graham Beecroft as resident co presenters to the pisshead Brazil. LOL

As said, anyone who thinks this is actually a 'personality' contest should just shoot themselves as you really are that fucking stupid.

Re: Sports Personality of the Year

I stopped listening to the Talksport breakfast show during the Alan Brazil & Ronnie Irani days as it was hideous, so I’ve never heard her on there.

She’s always decent enough on telly. Probably getting close to being overexposed maybe.

Of course not ... it’s the HORSE that should be nominated

Whatever you think of Hamilton (how is his teammate in the same car getting on?) and the sport ( televised traffic) he is the obvious winner on achievement which is what it should be on.

Laura Woods professional Pagey.

I've stopped listening to the breakfast show on TalkSport as she just giggles like a school girl.

Admittedly nice on the eyes but that's not a lot of good on radio.

Hermit , I know what you're saying.

Jockeys hardly ever get a look in. Even McCoy, Moore or Dettori.

Yeah, a bit of tokenism, but she is the breakthrough jockey for women against men so I'll give her a pass this time.

Re: Sports Personality of the Year
This isn’t actually a personality contest. I know this is hard for some to understand. Otherwise the awards would be dished out to the desperate “look at me, I’m a bit of a character” cringe-a-thons who litter every sport and always have done. Graeme Swann for a lifetime achievement award, anyone?

Re: Sports Personality of the Year
If what that lady jockey did is worthy of being in the voting for this award, then why isn’t there a jockey in the running every year considering that there are jockeys every single year who achieve a lot more.

Let’s at least be honest, she was in because of what is between her legs, and I’m not talking about the horse.

Some quality points being argued here. This is a bit of light entertainment for the Mong class. I actually know a few people who enjoy it. Strange.

We know what you enjoy. Hanging around life support systems. No wonder you love Covid so much.

The competition wasn’t great this year.

Second place, the water carrier in a team sport.

Third place, someone who came fourth in the flat jockey championship.

I've just explained. You can't necessarily judge a jockeys ability by the number of wins they get each season. The top jockeys don't really slum it for evening racing at Wolverhampton.

Hollie Doyle is their on merit. Rides around the world in the big races, for the top owners and trainers and from pretty humble beginnings. Not a case of tokenism for her. She's a proper breakthrough sportsperson.
And being a jockey is more dangerous than F1 driving or boxing.

Hamilton just drives the fastest car,

Used to watch it religiously but haven't seen it last few years. Read though that they mentioned a fella who ran 7 marathons in 7 days was it to raise money for MND.
